Increase Prompt Character Limit on Create Page

Current Issue

The prompt input field on the main Create page (text-to-image and text-to-video interfaces) appears to cap at around 2000 characters. This cuts off longer, more detailed prompts - especially JSON-formatted ones for structured control (e.g., scene breakdowns, multi-subject compositions, precise weights/styles, or complex narratives), detailed natural-language descriptions for models like FLUX.2 or Z-Image Turbo, or prompts copied from external tools/guides that exceed this length.

Why This Matters

  • Advanced users rely on long prompts (2000–5000+ characters) for better control, consistency, and quality - particularly with newer high-capability models that handle extended context well (e.g., Mistral-based encoders in FLUX variants support ~512 tokens ≈ 1500–2500 characters, but descriptive prose or JSON can push higher before truncation benefits diminish).

  • ComfyUI workflows already allow much longer/complex inputs without issues, so the standard interface feels artificially restricted.

  • Many competing platforms support 4000–8000+ characters or impose no strict char limit (only token-based truncation).

  • Truncation leads to incomplete generations, frustration when pasting/editing long prompts, and reduced usability for power users creating intricate art, videos, or character-consistent series.

Proposed Solution

  • Raise the frontend character limit to at least 4096 characters or ideally 8192 characters to fully support complex/JSON prompts.

  • Alternatively, remove the hard character cap entirely and let the backend handle token limits gracefully (with a warning if prompts exceed model context).

  • Add a character counter (e.g., "X/4096") below the prompt box for visibility.

  • Bonus: Optional prompt truncation preview or auto-summarization hint if over limit.

Benefits

This small tweak would greatly improve the experience for detailed prompting without major overhead, especially as models improve at long-context understanding. It aligns SeaArt with best practices in the AI art community and would likely reduce future support tickets about 'cut-off prompts.'
