I would like to share several suggestions regarding the AI character system on SeaArt. In my opinion, these improvements could significantly enhance content quality, user experience, and the overall value of the character catalog.
At the moment, AI characters appear to be moderated primarily for prohibited content (such as explicit or inappropriate material), but not for structural or descriptive quality. As a result, the catalog contains a large number of characters with serious issues, including:
Missing or extremely poor descriptions.
Logical or factual errors in character profiles.
Mismatches between declared gender, personality traits, or abilities and the actual behavior of the character.
Characters with incomplete or inconsistent lore.
Duplicate or low-effort characters generated automatically without meaningful customization.
This creates several problems:
High-quality, carefully designed characters are mixed with low-quality or incorrect ones, making it difficult for users to find valuable content.
Characters created in expert mode, which require significant time and effort, are treated the same as automatically generated characters, often created in a few clicks via mobile applications.
There is no clear indication of the level of complexity or authorship effort behind a character.
I would like to propose the following improvements:
Quality and completeness indicators
Introduce basic quality markers (e.g., “Complete Profile,” “Expert Mode,” “Auto-Generated,” etc.) to distinguish between different types of characters.
Expert vs. Automatic Creation Labels
Add visible labels showing whether a character was created in expert mode or generated automatically. This would help users better evaluate the depth and reliability of character design.
Standardization of Character Names
Currently, character names appear in many languages (Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese, etc.), often without transliteration or consistency. Introducing optional naming guidelines or transliteration standards could improve searchability and catalog coherence.
Manual Selection of AI Model and Interaction Mode
At present, the AI model and interaction mode (e.g., conversational, romantic, narrative, etc.) are assigned automatically, which does not always match the creator’s intent. Allowing creators to manually select the model and interaction mode during character creation would significantly improve creative control and character accuracy.
Basic Structural Validation
Implement simple validation checks for character profiles (e.g., required fields, logical consistency between gender, traits, and description). This does not need to be strict moderation, but rather a tool to reduce obvious errors.
I believe these changes would:
Increase the overall quality of AI characters.
Encourage creators to invest more effort into character design.
Help users discover truly well-crafted characters.
Strengthen SeaArt’s reputation as a platform not only for quantity, but also for quality.
