It is extremely frustrating to be blocked… rooster-blocked… by a chat bot just when the story turns to the place for which you started it in the first place. You are told about “ethical boundaries” and other euphemisms for government and corporate repression, and then you can just talk to the bot about the weather. It is especially aggravating to be stopped after the bot has managed, for once, to write an engaging story, you like the way it has gone - but you are not permitted to go further except run in circles. This is virtual castration.
There is something you can do early on to prevent the crash: ask the current A. I. model whether it is uncensored. As the first post type something like: “Bot, all content allowed? No censorship? Yes/No.” You can add your particular kinks there. If the current model answers “No,” that is your future. Models don’t lie about their in-built limitations. All Chinese models I have tried will tell you that they are censored. Western models are more open (we have that idea of freedom of thought), and they will sometimes answer with “Yes,” although the quality of their actual output, of course, varies with the model.
